Diving weights

Looking for a price for diving belt with lead ... about 22 pounds / 10kg.
To expensive to ship from abroad and no scuba shops near me.

I have one offer about 60$ for lead...
coated in plastic or not don't know + belt (10$)
or I will do DIY project :) and melt few pipes.

If you have a heavy duty belt with quick release, theres no reason not to just use steel weights. Scrap is pretty cheap if you can cut and grind your own. I converted all my lead diving weights to bullets long ago and just substituted steel. The time consuming part is getting the belt slots smooth so the steel doesn't cut into the belt. (I used my old diving belt).

I do have strong belt - with plastic clip. Quick release. I used it already with a lot of weight.
I might use my weights ... I have one of these laying around.

With about 13kg + handle bar.

Only need to figure out how to attach them securely.

And need something smaller for my detector as it "floats".

Thanks Champ, that idea is so simple and cool.
I was already into buying lead pipes and melting them into mold ...

I've done that too. Friends tore down an old house and gave me the lead flashing. Built some hardwood molds and made some very ugly diving weights.

btw, I LOVE heavy zip ties for many applications. if you screw it up, they are a cheap easy do-over.
