You sure do have some cool hunt spots. And I'm not wondering how long the stuff has been down there...a LONG TIME, I would say. Very cool, because you really never know WHAT you might find. At all the spots I hunt, it's either bling OR silver coins...never both. I'd really like to try some of these fresh water spots some time...lakes and rivers...seems like great fun.
 
Do some research, or ask some senior citizens where the old swimming holes are/were.
 
A real Diamond??? That's the find of a lifetime, if so. I'm really surprised no one else has asked about it. 5Karats is a F$*&%#@g HUGE diamond and would be worth quite a bit, even if it's not top quality.
All I can say is WOW!
