When I pulled this coin out I wasn't sure what it was. Thought 1/2 dollar, then I saw 1one penny. Next I saw king george and the heart started pumpin. Then I looked at the image and it looked a bit too modern. Well, looks like a 1950 New Zealand penny. It is the size of a USA 1/2 dollar:( BUMMER!
Also dig ~ 40 other coins with only 3 wheats and no silver.

Found a nickle about 8" down just knew it was a old one, it turned out to be a 1988. Still no Silver. A 1920 and a 1940 penny I was happy with those 2 finds last night. Try again tonight.

I'm sure your heart kipped a beat or 2 though. It is always fun to have excitement like that even though you were disappointed in the end.

I will take the disappointment on a hunt, kinda like a blind date sooner or later you get a winner.:yo:

Funny-I had a similar experience at the beach last week. It ended up being an old pizza coin of some kind. I thought I had found a large cent:confused:

Still not a bad find for the US..Its a long way from home...Could have been worse :)Thx for the picks..Good luck on your next run..HH
