Displays

I'm curious as to the performance of the Vx3's LED display as compared to the V3i's LCD screen? I know, theoretically a light emitting diode is never supposed to 'burn out', but the earth was considered flat at one time, too... LCD's used to fade after time, but I and many of my fishing buddies have used modern LCD's without issue in our fishing electronics for years now. So why the change? Does anybody have info. on comparisons between the two? Clarity, brightness, polarization (light), battery consumption...... If you own both, what are your thoughts?

Why do you think the VX3 has a LED display? The VX3 and V3i is the same machine, only the user interface and coil are different.

In case it doesn't go through this is a comparison chart used by Kellyco. About half way down you will see the display on the Vx3 is LED.... You will have to add the V3i btw to see it uses a LCD. I believe it is also in the manual, not 100% sure on that one though.....

Scratch that, I don't see it in the manual. Maybe it's a typo?

THEY DO NOT USE A DIFFERENT SCREEN. There is no electronic difference between the two. ONLY THE USER INTERFACE IS DIFFERENT. If you could access all that is in the VX3 you would have a V3i.

WHITES has answered, there is no difference. The case and post are closed. ROB
