Display cases?

I see people on here putting their finds in "display cases" -- wooden frames with glass tops, and felt or something inside that you mount the finds to. My questions are ONE -- where do you buy these cases, and TWO, how do most folks attach the finds to the felt (or whatever the material is) so that the finds don't move around in there?

THANKS!

Steve

Steve, here's what I got. My wife actually got me one for Christmas. We then went and got another one at Micheals. It's a craft store. They got alot of different ones to chose from. Each shelf has a groove in it so the items just kinda lean against the back. Very nice, I'm very happy with mine. Will be getting a few more soon. Hope this helps, Happy New Year, Joe.

Here's what I use. I find them at antique stores and flea markets sometimes. They're not real cheap but they are usually made well.
The felt has thick foam behind it and many finds will stay put alright with just the pressure of the glass on them. But this is mainly if you are just laying it flat. I guess you could do things like sew on buttons etc., use pins?,
If everything in the case is about the same thickness it will probably stay put with just the glass lid pushing down on it.
Sorry, I don't really have any good tricks for things that like to roll. I have that problem with some smaller stuff.

Neal...sorry but I had to edit out the ebay link.

Sorry for not replying sooner Steve.
I mentioned in my post of my display you can get them at flee markets like Neil mentioned.
I just did not want to post a fleebay link up but, thats exactly the best place to get them.

I used to be an antique dealer and yep most large antique stores have them to. They range from cardboard to oak. Steve you might get some kind of gum backing.... what ever you use becareful it doesnt have any acid producing affects. Also ..... if you are displaying coins they cant be in direct sunlight because like material there would be a difference in color from the front and back. Some display cases might produce harmful fumes as well..... like from varnish.
