Display case (OT, sort of)

I have seen some pics of items in display cases on several boards. Most of the cases have been hand made by some of the detectorists and are very nice. I have a garage full of woodworking tools and can build just about anything. I need plans for a glass top display case. I want to build several for gifts for some of my detecting friends. The approximate size I would like is about 13"x18"x2". Is there anyone out there who may be able to help me find these plans?

Hi, I've found that the perfect plans for building any thing, are the ones you make up from your own vision. If you got a shop full of equipment, then grab some scraps and make a couple of rough ones. You can fine tune some options that you may not get on someone else's plans. Look at the pictures and maybe goggle "display case plans" and see what pops up. But don't give up on your own creativity!!! Good luck and let us see them when you are done.

I haven't had any better ideas. I can usually build anything I want anyhow. I just do not want it to look like an ordinary box. A friend gave ne some nice chunks of red oak and I think I will make a prototype. I'll post a pic. Who knows, I may come up with a design that others may just want to purchase!
