Discovery TF-900 2-box

I am looking to buy a 2-box detector and after doing a lot of research, I've found that the Discovery TF-900 is a better unit than the White's TM-808. I live in Bulgaria and the TF-900 is not being sold here.

I don't want to buy it from the USA because of the import tax. Can this unit be bought in the UK? If so, can you point me to a web site that sells it?

Does the Discovery itself have a web site? If so - what is it? Or is it Bounty Hunter that makes the TF-900?

Our ground here is "highly mineralized". Given that fact, which 2-box unit do you think I would have better success with?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Alex, yes I have also heard the same, that the Discovery is better than Whites. I have even heard that Whites copied the Discovery one.

Two more 2-boxes on the market, the Fisher Gemini-3 and the Garrett Master Hunter CX III with a Treasure Hound 2-box.

Alex, I also have heard that Detech metal detector coils and Pulse Induction metal detectors are made in Bulgaria by ex-Soviet rocket scientists? I know that Detech makes a very good product from reports.

Hi David,

I talked to JoanAllen some time ago and they told me that they couldn't supply the Discovery TF-900 and that the White's TM-808 is a superior unit to it, which in fact might be true as I recently read on some web sites that the new TM-808 (since about 12 months ago) is a pretty good machine - more stable, works better in bad (mineralized) ground, than the previous version. I doubt that either machine will be of much use to me as our ground is one of the worst grounds in the country in terms of mineralization, making detectors such as the ML Explorer to detect at just 6-8" at best. But I like gadgets and will get a White's TM-808 locally anyway.

Detech coils are made in Bulgaria by the people who are the local distributors of the Minelab detectors here. I doubt that they have anything to do with rocket science. I didn't know that they make PI detectors too. Perhaps they are made by someone else and re-branded.
