:wacko:HI EVERYONE IVE BEEN READING THE FORUM AND THOUGHT ID JUMP IN AND ASK A QUESTION. I HAVE BEEN METAL DETECTING FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NOW WITH A DISCOVERY 3300. IVE FOUND A FEW GOOD KEEPERS SUCH AS AFEW MERCUEY DIMES AND 10 INDIANHEAD PENNIES. I WAS USING THE STOCK 8 INCH COIL ALL THIS TIME BUT DECIDED TO ORDER THE 10 INCH COIL THIS WINTER. I TESTED THE STOCK COIL AGAINST THE 10 INCH COIL BY HOLDING A PENNY NICKEL DIME QUARTER UNDER EACH COIL USING THE STOCK COIL FIRST. I SEEM TO HAVE GAINED ANYWHERE FROM A COUPLE OF INCHES TO ALMOST 4 ON LARGER COINS. OF COURSE THIS WAS INDOORS NOT BURIED IN THE GROUND.SHOULD THESE BE THE RESULTS I SHOULD EXPECT TO GET WHEN SEARCHING OUTDOORS? I LIVE IN NEW YORK AND AM GETTING REAL ITCHY TO GO OUT DETECTING. HURRY UP SPRING IM GETTING CABIN FEVER AND CANT WAIT MUCH LONGER:wacko:

Welcome to the forum bottlefreak, ( I was just going to say just freak). I just bought a Discovery 3300 and looking forward to it showing up. I would like to get the 10 inch coil. Just curious, What is your detector testing out at??? Again welcome....

:twodetecting:i basically had my metal detector on my dining room table and took the various coins and swiped under each coil until i did not get a response. I want to thank you for welcoming me to the forum I have gotten permission to look at atleast 10 properties that range from 1830 to 1890 construction. some have alot of yard and are outside the city and a few are in town with average size yards. i hope to find something with the ten inch coil to be able to post. But i just enjoy being outside and having fun even if i dont. I cant stand winter but thats what i get from living in NEW YORK. Spring cant come soon enough.I have had good luck with the stock coil no major finds but you never know!! youre going to like the DISCOVERY 3300. Good hunting and keep in touch.:twodetecting:

I also have the Discovery 3300. It seems to be becomng a popular detector lately. I got mine about a month ago for $95 including tax at pawn shop
.
I've been shopping on line for the 4' and 10' coils. I'm a pretty serious shopper for a guy, (LOL). You can get both coils for about $75 including shipping at several sites,
At http://www.boatersworld.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchView?storeId=10051&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&keyword=bounty+hunter you can both coils the nylon carry bag and pouch and digger kit for $103 with free shipping. I wasn't thinking about the pouch but when you spend $100 you get free shipping. That makes the net cost of the pouch $11. So, what the hech may as well get it.

At kellyco the2 coils alone are $129 plus $10 shipping.

Hope this info helps some of you.
