discovery 3300 vs fisher f4

ok guys ive got a question as follows im going to replace my discovery 3300 and was looking at either a ace 250 or a fisher f4 the 250 does not have a digital read out but the fisher does am i going to get a more noticeable improvement from the 250 or f4 i know the f4 is made by bounty hunter at least the coils are interchangeable i think the display is important to have but if im not going to see any better performance from either of these two machines then ill have to research further any help would be appreciated thanks

Not to knock the Ace 250, it's a good machine for its price range, but the F4 is in a different league, much superior. And the F4 is also appreciably better than the 3300 despite some similarities in appearance and features.

The F2 is in the same price range as the Ace 250 and by almost any account it is a better performer than the Ace and also has superior features. The F2 is basically an F4 with fewer features. If you don't use ground balanced all metals mode (i.e., if you just search in the discrimination mode as most users do) then even the F2 could be regarded as an upgrade from the 3300.

I'm a little puzzled that you're thinking of switching from a 3300 to an Ace 250, since performance and feature-wise, that's a step down rather than a step up. Again, not to knock the Ace, it's a good machine in its price range, but the 3300 is more metal detector on almost every count.

The F2 and F4, although Fishers, use the same coil series as the 3300 and most Bounty Hunters.

thanks for the reply dave i really didnt know the difference in the ace or the f4 but after some research reading reviews im definitely leaning towards the fisher f4 ive had the 3300 for about 2 years and want to upgrade to a better machine with more depth capabilities and i think the f4 is just the ticket ive seen other people using the ace 250 on you tube but havent heard anyone say they were using the fisher f4 i like the coil the f4 comes with and i understand if the connectors are the same the 10 and 8 inch coil my bh has will interchange with it also i didnt realize the ace 250 was a step down from what i have but i do now have you used the fisher f4 if so how does it perform for you i really appreciate the info and your quick response I'm hoping to get the f4 ordered by the end of the month and i live in new york so i hope to get some hunts in before winter socks me in till April well bye for now and may all your finds be silver and gold
