Discovery 3300 pinpointing...

Nephew has older model 3300 and when you hit pinpoint you loose maual set facets. Strange setup one would think. I realize one can pinpoint in Discrimination but any other way with loosing manual set facets...Appreciate any input...

Dan I got mail, sent you what i find works for me......

But, With the 3300 yes the only discrimination settings that stay after going from pinpoint mode will be the preset ones. It is a fault of the detector model but i work around it.

I run with sensitivity maxed out. then when i find a target i slowly decrease the sensitivity and have been able to shrink the target area to at least to 3-2 inches which works for a plug and my hand held pin pointer. This way i wont loose my notches or other settings.

yeah it takes a little work to do this well but it is a great detector and works well in all kinds of conditions. I still would not trade it in yet.
