Let me get this straight the Explorer will disc all programed targets like tabs, wire, foil, and
still see good targets like coins and rings under and in between all the junk?

Pretty much if you do it right, and the item you want to find doesnt read exactly the same as the junk you disced out....Jim

so does the meter show the stuff you have edited
out AND the stuff you have not. In other words
does it show all targets and show them as good and bad targets?

As I understand it ... the cursor will not respond to the stuff which is disc out (ie that is in the dark part of the screen) and the audio should null if it has the same signature (conductivity/inductivity/size) as a disc target or it is iron.
The cursor should respond to all other metal that is in the detector's range and there should be an audio signal.
HH ... Gord.

the curser will move to the spot it sees the target at whether edited out or not, but it will not respond with audio to disced out targets, if your watching the screen when it nulls you can see where its reading on all targets, although its hard to see the curser on the darkened notchd out part of the screen...Jim

Thanks Jim ... guess my old eyes just aren't what they used to be ;^)
Actually I don't disc too much ... in the -8 iron mask mode I haven't noticed the cursor when it's on the left in the dark area (probably because I usually pay more attention to the audio).
HH ... Gord.

Its pretty hard to see it on the rejected part of the screen, if lighting isnt just right you really cant, but like the sov, just because its disced out doesnt mean the expolorer isnt analyzing it.. just like when the Sovs threshold goes to the tone of rejected targets

You can see what the Explorer is regecting on the Digital screen, it gives the numerical ID.

In pretty much any setup you use the Explorer is going to seperate the goodies from the rejected items. It is incredible how well the Explorer does straight out of the box. On my first day out I quickly discovered how well it seperates items when I started hitting wheaties with perfect ID within the outter bounderies of Iron nulls.
The trick is you just have to use a very slow sweep when aroun iron/junk.
