Disapointing hunt

With the ground starting to thaw out a little I headed to a near by town where I had permission to hunt a yard that dates back to 1890. There was a lot of iron in the soil so the hunting was poor, All I managed to pull from the lot was a 1942 penny my first from Australia, there were a few other good signals but the ground was to frozen to dig. I had high hopes for this lot but it looks as if someone has already been there, it is snowing again today so it will be awhile before I can go back & hit it again.

Did you hit the sidewalk strips as well? If I had the same opportunity, I would comb over that yard 3-4 times at different angles going real slow! :detecting: :usaf:

uasfaviator, I did hit the walkways there are no sidewalks it is all dirt. I know there is some good stuff there but I will have to wait until the snow is gone & the ground has thawed out.

Hey, it was a good start and at least you did get to get out a bit. Hopefully we all can get out soon and stretch. We're all ready for Spring! HH, Nancy

I am ready for spring as well, it will not snow enough for me to make any money so I would just as soon have nice warm weather.
