Disabled Gentleman needs metal detector

oldrivers

New member
I joined this forum after reading almost all the posts and got real excited about trying it myself. I'm 62 and disabled but can still get around. Walking is sure something I can do and it might just save my life to try and get out more ,get some fresh air,and metal detect. The reason I'm writing here is to see if any of you might have an old detector you might want to sell that's not too expensive. If so you can e-mail me at wildhog39@hotmail.com
The wildhog name is because i'm originally from arkansas and the college team is the arkansas razorbacks or wild hawgs. I'm too old to be a wild hog myself ha. ha. Thank you for your time and I hope i'm not doing anything wrong posting this, but metal detecting is sure something I'd like to try and do.
Thanks Again,
Oldrivers

I'm almost ashamed to say! I draw supplemental social security so there ain't a lot left. I don't expect to get a great detector, but I thought maybe someone had an old one they didn't use anymore that I might could afford.I was kindda wanting to see if I could afford a used one.

Welcome. I wish I had an old one I could just give you. Hopefully someone hooks you up.

I asked the question because some people's budget warrants a new detector. Let's say you can spend $185 This can get you a new Ace 250! Lets say you can spend $100 This can get you a used Ace 150 or some older treasure Ace's. I'm not trying to see just how much you want to spend to take advantage of you. I don't even have a detector I would part with. But knowing your budget will help me and others look for a detector that will work for you.

What a great bunch of people are over here in this forum. within a few minutes of joining and posting a couple people offered me detectors.A special thanks to diggin in new mexico who is mailing me a garrett 150 today. Right after we spoke on the phone I had another message from cgmaddog offering to give me a detector. Makes me proud to know good people are alive and well.I look forward to reading all the stories here on the forum and have read them all. Thanks again "diggin" for not only making me a very affordable deal but also for taking the time to get it here so fast.

It sure goes to show you that some people in this world still care. It makes me happy to see that people still do good things for others. :clapping:

Oldrivers I'm in the same boat as you, I'm 56 and disabled, needing a detector to get out and get some exercise. I thought about bicycles at first but I'm not the lightest person in town and I don't think my backside would be comfortable anymore in life on a bicycle seat. I'm going to buy a Garrett Ace 250, you know for $212.99 as I've seen them priced, and usually with free shipping, you can save for this. I would think it'd be nice if someone had one for you, but how do you beat a price like this. This isn't just a kids detector, it's great quality and very competitive with the top of the line stuff, I wanted a Garrett GTI 2500 but my detector salesman convinced me that unless I was prospecting the Ace 250 is the best coin and relic shooter around, and for 1/4th the price of the 2500.

I looked at the Garrett Ace 250, held it, learned about it, there's a great video on the web about its operation if you've not seen it, look here to see it; Garrett Ace 250 Operation Instructions The Garrett Ace 250 is in my future for sure, if you're close to the east side of Washington state let's go hit some parks or beaches!!

Good luck,
SnowCajun
I'm old, there's no cure!

Thanks Snow. I was fortunate to have some people offer me a detector minutes after I posted. I wound up buying a 150 from diggin ( a member of the forum ) I have already received it but unfortunately the weather hasn't been nice to me. I wish you well, and wish you were here in texas and I would sure take you up on your offerto hunt with me. Good luck in detecting and I look forward to seeing your discoveries.
