Im an pm'ing him as I have time.... He may have a bad coil. He has been detecting in the country and I am asking him if there are telephone poles with transformers.

I am pretty bi-lingual and google translator helps allot....:biggrin:

And I quote me...."he may have a bad coil". I just returned 2 4x6 v-rated coils. Whites of course replaced them without question. My friends v3i overloads at 7 when it has been resting on the hot sand or just out of the car. When it is cool no problem, so he dunks it from time to time to keep using it on the beach.

The dude in Mexico has a coil that goes erratic at anything higher than 4. I am working on determining if the coil is the problem as this is what my friends does when it is hot.
