Dilek,,questions about Impact updates

squirrel1

Well-known member
Dilek,
Could you please share with folks,,,talk about updates.

After
Impact is released,,,will folks if an update is released in the future,,will you disclose precisely what the update does as far as changes to the Impact detector?

And,,if after release of Impact,,,will Nokta offer a running list of updates in the future for folks to be able to choose from?

Some folks actually realize learning a detector takes a lot of time,,,so some folks may want to update their detector,,,some if a new update does come out may not,,,some if a new update comes out,,may try the new,,,but may want to go back to the old.

So,,will a person be able to have choices in the future with the possible different updates ithat could be provided to Impact owners??

Hello.
I really don't know the answer to these questions yet as I need to discuss them with the team and engineers.
I believe we will do whatever the majority of customers need unless my engineers will object to it for any technical/confidentiality matters.
I will definitely keep you guys updated.

I have spent the last 32 years developing software. When a patch comes out it fixes a problem or adds functionality. It is very difficult to maintain different versions of code and to allow a selective update. Just think if there were 4 code changes, you would need to maintain 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 16 versions of source code to maintain to cover all the permutations of the option of installing or not installing the change.

Well,I wasn't necessarily talking about all possible updates.
But any updates that would change performance.

Case in point Xp gives users a choice currently to update their detectors with one of 3 Versions,,,2.0, 3.2 and 4.0.

I have to admit I had never really looked into nokta- makro detectors in much detail....after having read a lot of the posts on findmall recently.....good god these people from nokta-makro
Been more than reasonable in letting the forum know what is going with the release of any of its detectors....I see some cheeky remarks from readers including myself and I kind of feel hmmm I have been ?...go Nokta-makro don't let anyone tell you otherwise ....you are on the right track and keep at it... I hope you guys bring out the next best detector ... It's clearly evident that you have been working very hard to please customers....I take my hat off to you nokta -makro. -
