If you received a copy of Andy Sabisch's "Mastering the Minelab Explorer SXS & S" with your detector, check out the table of digital values on page 68.

then what your saying is that the conductivity numbers on page 68 are the ones the digital screen will show for the target in question?

Although the person who created the table used an overlay to determine the numbers, they should correspond to the digital display, I think. For most coins, my Explorer gives the same digital number as the table or not more than a difference of one except for very deep targets.

Mike, I just started using the digital readout. Lincoln cents read 26 or 27, dimes and quarters 28, indian head cents 24 - 27. Screw top lids also read 24 or 25. Pull tabs read 14 - 22. A reading of 31 is definitely iron. Thats all I memorized so far! Good Luck! Ed

Hi Mike, I have found shallow quarters on 31 just last weekend, buffalo nickels read 5 and regular ones read 6

i've noticed that that a silver coin on it's side will hit up 31 when you swing just right. people say that a steady 31 is junk. has any one out there found anything really nice when hitting up a soild 31? thanks for the imput terry/mo.
