Digital cameras

My last digital camera died and looking for one that does great close ups (for finds of course)

I don't think the megapixel count is as important as it doing the job right. What good is say 7 megapixels if it won't do close ups? I think great close ups even at 1.2 megapixel would be better than a 7mp that doesn't work.

Looking to get a used one - cheap - off eBay when I find a good one for close ups.

Any recommendations?

When we bought ours we went to a electronis store to look at them and ask questions. I told them what I wanted to do, and they assured me I didn't need all the bells and whistles. They suggested a Sony Cyber Shot 1.3 mega pixels. That is when 4 MP was about the highest. I then went to ebay and got one for about half the cost as the store!

I use a Sony Mavica fm 85 and love it. I can get extremely close or distant. It's one that uses the 3 1/2 floppy that goes right into the computer. I know it's now old already but it works great for me. steve in so az

Can't be that old - after all it isn't a 5-1/4" floppy disk

Thanks Steve

not sure yet what I will go to at this point. 'Just lookin' as they say.
Still waiting on that unemployment check - or is it the post office.
Maybe today. Maybe when the detector sells I will use part of that money for a camera (as a part of my 'detecting tools').

so not sure I want to check them out - even if it costs me more somewhere else.

Appreciate the suggestion though PJ.
