DigiSearch Digital Target Indication Meter

For all Sovereign GT users with the DigiSearch Digital Target Indication Meter (180) meter ( not the older 550 meter) is this meter pretty accurate with IDing different types of coins and pull tabs.

when i beach comb if it sounds good i dig, but having issues at my local parks, tried searching goggle and had a lot of mix reviews on the meter

TIA

Not necessarily.........
How large and how much metal is really there have an effect.
Don't take one reading to be good for some objects, when a thinner or thicker object will give you a different reading.

By the way.......
How did you get a Digisearch in 550? They come as a 180. Or did you get an older 550 meter?

Must of gotten a Uncalibrated 550 Meter, will only ring up to 496 on a us quarter so I make my own numbers for now until I get a 180 Meter, My wedding band Rings in at 400 pesty pull tabs betwwen 400 -450 but if it sounds good I dig

Good that you learned to improvise. The meter is for reference only and does not affect operation of the rest of the detector.
You could set the meter up for an even 400 if you wanted to. Know of one fellow who calibrated to 600 .

I just did this mod for my 550 meter. it works good and it's rather simple to do. You can even buy a parts kit to do it. A little patience and a little soldering and you saved another $ 175.00

Hope this helps ya.
