Digisearch 180 meter readings?

bottlebum

New member
I remember seeing a chart that give the readings for certain finds "coins, junk, etc." but I can't seem to find it.
Does anyone have a chart that they can post for all of us users that don't have the items handy to test ourselves?
Thanks, Bottlebum

Here is the front of a 180 meter with all the info on it. For me I find the copper, clad and silver will read 179-180 the new zinc pennies made after 1982 and some of the older Wheaties plus most all IH pennies will give me a 176-177. Most all my nickles will be in the 144-145 range with some war nickles as high as 151. Now on the GT if you use freq 1 than the nickles will read higher, but only the nickles it seems.

Also the tones is what you want to listen for too to make sure it is a repeatable signal. Most coins not deep will repeat and once you wiggle the coil over it and get the sweet tones the numbers wont vary much than a number or 2. Those that you cant get to lock on and numbers vary a lot is trash for me. Now if it is a weaker and deeper signal I find they too will repeat and you will get the tones and the meter readings trying to climb, but may not make it to the correct one are the good ones too, but if it climbs to let say 160 and locks in then chances are that is the ID of that target. It takes time to get to know it a bit and the little tricks you only learn from experience with it, but it will do well.
