Digging tools

It depends. The Lesche is my favorite but not very good for manucured lawns and parks, really tears stuff up. My other digger, I can't remember the brand, has a rounded end, that when sharpened, can cut out a real nice plug. For things shallow, I use a probe and just pop them up, no mess whatsover.

I use a Nebraska Sod Buster. Not so good in nice yards but I could pry my car out of the ground with it.

I use a cheaper method. Its a linoleum scraper included in a 5 piece awl and scraper set you get at Harbor Freight for $2.00. You saw right. $2.00 gets you 2 very nice diggers (similiar to the ones they sell for $30 on Ebay) and 3 probes. Only one of the probes is useable though, as the other 2 are curved. 5 pieces for $2 and 3 are useable for detecting. Ive broken 2 of the long diggers so far, but I was trying to pry a large bolt out of a huge piece of concrete!!! Haha I didnt know it at the time of course, and I had no business standing on it!!! LOL I wanted it bad.

Since theres 2 diggers in each set, and Ive broken 2 diggers and bought 2 sets, I still have a digger for both my wife and I, and now have 4 probes, and only have a couple bucks invested.

I plan to get a digger custom made at a welding shop as well.

Sounds likea bargain. I'll have to check it out next time I'm at Harbor Freight. I get their flyer in the mail every week or so.
