Digging Tools

Can Carrying a large digging tool on your person like the lesche digger, affect the ability of your Explorer to find coins? Some one said it did or could. Any opinions out there?

With any sensitive detector you must be very careful with any metal object that is nearby. That said I don't believe a Lesche digger at your hip will adversely affect your detecting too much.
I have a Lesche at my left hip and a large 22 inch stainless steel trowel that I use for the deep stuff. The trowel "has" to be behind me on my belt and I have to be careful with it in order for it not to interfere with the detector.
I usually have my shaft extended pretty far (which is possible with the HMK hip mount to help with the balance) and this also helps reduce any adverse affect. Metal toes in your shoes, etc are also things to be careful with.
I think the one of the posts you're referring to mentioned metal cuffs possibly interferring. These if five or so feet away and especially if they don't move relative to the induced magnetic field of the coil probably won't be much of a problem.
However, whenever you get erratic behavior you should check just about everything to make sure you're detecting at maximum efficiency.

I use the longest Ground Shark there is, I believe it's 42 inches long. I don't have a problem with the coil falsing due the shovel, I just drag it behind me and leave a trail in the dirt of leaves. In fact!! I use the trail it leaves behind as a guide line to not detect over the same ground.
