Digging Tools

wrong way ron

New member
What's the best shovel for coins I have the Lesche digging tool, But I,m looking for a strong shovel like the Lesche tool something with a small blade good for cutting plugs out of the ground and still be able to get coins, rings, and any thing else of value:lol: Any idea's guys????

if you go to wwmfg com and click on nursery landscaping tools..you'll see both flavors of your Lesche digging tool..as well as the 3 flavors of " Ground Shark " ..( i have the 28 inch model ) I have found the 28 inch model to be the perfect size to tote around..not too big..but big enough to dig in if i have to..I take Lesche digger and the ground shark every time i go out..... :goodnight:

I use the Little Giant made by Lesche. I suggest reviewing all the choices at predatortools.com . They're the folks that make the Lesche diggers.

I can appreciate giving predatortools.com a plug..... but.... they do not make the Lesche Digging tool....

W.W. Manufacturing Company Inc. makes the one and only Lesche Digging tool.Item#: 48 - red handle
( and the name is pronounced lesh ) Paraphrasing Mies Van der Rohe: "Lesche is More".

Predatortools makes the Model 85E - Digging Tool - Orange Handle.... which looks almost identical... and sells for the same money shipped.... but it is a predator tool.

users have confused the two companies for years because the owners.... of both companies are related.....

Predatortools tools has consentrated on manufacturing tools for the sport industry.... camping... metal detecting... rock climbing.....ect...and they make some nice garden tools as well.....

W.W.Manufacturing has concentrated on making their tools for the labor industry...... landscaping.... farming.... construction.... ect ...and they make a few nice camping tools as well....

both manufacturing facilities are in Bridgeton, NJ..... and there seems to be plenty of pie for both..... they are two very diffrent companies... just compare their web sites....

The family rift between the Lesche's is not my concern. However, I do use the model 75 and model 58 digging tools made by George Lesche.
They have proven to be excellent tools in every respect, and I highly recommend them. No confusion there.

Lesche and Predator tools. What's the whole story?

Wow....
i shortcutted that one..... Thanks for that input Jerry.... it does add an intresting aspect.... the unfortunate reality of corporations... is that junior partners don't get .... a way, say, or day.....
my loyalty however.... falls with the tool....more than anything else.... i bought my first one in 1990... The king Of Spades... model # KS-S .... found here... http://www.wwmfg.com/default.asp?contentID=1114
I still have and use it.... it was $55.00 when i bought it from George's father.... it was kinda funny.... i walked in... he met me at the door... i started to tell him what i was looking for in a shovel.... he picked one up out of a pile in the corner.... handed it to me.... pointed at the office... and said " pay in there. " then he walked off.... hehehehehe.... i've never regretted buy'n that shovel.....
being a general contractor most of my life.... i have used my " Weapon Of Mass Construction " to do some of the most insane things... it was never intended for.... it's the bestest pry bar in all of today... the blade Was 13 inches new.... Now...19 years later it's 12 1/8....
Today i'm old and fat.... and i take my shovel metal detecting..... but when i go to parks and nice places.... i can't bring super shovel... they'll throw me out....that's when i got the 28" land shark.....
I know Predator make fine quality tools.... but when I found somthing that was right ....for Me .... the first time....I couldn't see myself goin anywhere else.... the tool spoke for itself.... and that's the reason i've been a repeat cusomer....
