PS hope you don't consider this as spam, there are a lot of digging tools out there.
 
Ive never been a big fan of mulitpurpose, folding tools. Somewhere along the line they must compromise something in order to "do it all."
Ive used them, and to be fair, there are some that have usability. But they usually end up giving out under rigorous use. The one exception that comes to mind are the "Leatherman" tools.

So, if digging is your aim, then better IMHO is a non-folding military entrenching tool, sharpened and/or pointed as needed. Good milsurp ones from Switzerland or Sweden can be had at cheaperthandirt.com, for starters
