Digging tool

Would like recommendations on 1 digging tool that would work well in sandy areas and rock areas. I plan to detect in fresh water lakes and streams.

I have the AT-Pro and Excal II.

I take it you are referring to a long handled scoop for water and dry sand? Being that you mentioned rocky areas, I would stay away from aluminum and go with stainless steel. Don't go too small on the diameter of the scoop, as the bigger the scoop, the better chance of getting the target in it the first time. Most major sponsors on Findmall carry a variety of sandscoops. That's what I am looking for, does it have a name I can Google?
Thanks.
