Digging Tool for Rocks and Clay

New member
I have found a promising site but had to leave lots of targets as I couldn't get my Miller's Scoop into the ground at this beach. I'm bringing a shovel along next time. Any suggestions on a better tool to get through real hard ground, clay and rocks? Des in Brooklyn

Take a look at the Sun-Spot scoop. All stainless very tough. I have areas in these lake swimming areas with the red clay and rocks and that scoop has really helped. North Georgia Relics a forum sponser carries the Sun-Spot scoops and Don is a good man to deal with. HH :minelab:

I got the Stealth 6.5 from Don. The lakes I'm hunting are exactly as you described...mud/clay/rocks. The only sand is what they imported and dumped on the beach...once you get in the water its all mud/clay/rock. The Stealth is doing a good job in it. I've not had any other scoop so I can't compare but I'm not really having any troubles except for getting dirty looks from mudding up the water once I start doing the sifting/shaking.
