Digging the "iffy" signals - Sat & Sun

My Son and I went out Saturday and today. We started the day out on Lake Erie(fishing for Walleye) but with 5 ft waves and rain quickly went back in and grabed the detectors. We have been hunting a school that was built in the late 40's to early 50's. ALL of the silver we have dug from this place has been 6-8" deep. And most of the signals very "iffy". The 40 merc I dug today- I saw a blib of a 30's signal. Was barely even able to pinpoint. Dime was down about 8 inches. Had the sensitivity at 18. One thing I do love about the Quattro is it's ability to id nickels. Even deep ones. 14 is the majic number. My son did find a 1924 Wheat. Too bad no D.

Wow Bob your cleaning up, nice finds. Are you hunting in all metal mode? I've been using all metal quite a bit, seems to work well at pulling the keepers out from the junk.

Well, I must admit my son is better at finding those deep silvers than I am. Although I find about the same number of coins he typically finds twice the silver I do. And this time was no exception. I think that DFX is a silver magnet. And maybe he is a little sharper...

The all metal mode seems to be the best for the Quattro. It helps to be able to distiguish between that deep iorn and those deep good coins. I also like the low trash setting. High trash setting seems to throw the id off.
