Gunnar is right.

It just sounds like someone doesn't quit know

what thay are blowin off about.

I'm a dumb North American hick. I don't need any

Euro swinger or any one else tellin me how deep

it is.

After all, I'm tha Tabdog.

Thay just don't under stand us dumb Arkies.

Respectfully Submitted,

= and take umbrage at the notion that because I'm a "North American cousin," I'm also stupid.
I rarely use depth readings, even when available, preferring to just raise the coil. If the signl is soft and dissapears right away I know it's deep. If it blasts me out of my headphones and I can still pick it up at a foot, then I know it's shallow.

Sounds like some elitist clap trap, the stuff of boorish snoobery. Guy was a Brit, I'll bet.

Not so respectfully submitted, I'm dahut.

I didn't know one had to know how deep a target is to dig. If it seems to be a good or interesting signal I dig till I find it, no matter whether shallow or deep.

Without question; if it sounds promising, I dig it. I can only hope that those with depth indication believe it.

You da man David.

I'm just tryin ta get people ta try tha AM.

There are a lot of different AM's and just

like AM's, MD'es are different.

Tha short is, use it, use it, use it.

That will answer a lot of questions like this.

We learn all we can off tha forums, but tha

real deal is in tha dirt and crud.

It takes charactors like us ta make a hobby

of it.

We do it out of love for tha hobby. We gather

like birds in a flock here.

I don't quess it's for everbody, but I'm glad you

are here to enjoy it with us,

Tabdog

I'm with B Bill and Relic, if its a good signal or even iffy and it discs out at the right place, I'm diggin. Sometimes I'll check the spot with my pinpointer (it only gets 1 1/2" max depth) to see if the target is just under the turf, especially if I'm coin shooting.
