Digging in Virginia - Explorer Users

We all know that the ground is terrible and everyone swears that you've got to have a PI machine to do any good, but has anyone had any luck using their Explorer II or Explorer Pro hunting relics during any of the DIV hunts? I have a friend that is signed up and he wonders if he should borrow a different machine.

Thanks!

I used my SE PRO at a treasure hunt in Caroline county and did very well with. It was a seeded hunt on a battlefield or encampment area. The SE had no problem finding seeded targets (mostly civil war bullets) and ones that were not seeded. Other than being a little bit heavy for the long fast paced hunt I had no complaints about it's abilities.

I have been to a number of DIV hunts. I used the explorer at 2 hunts with mixed results. The first hunt I did pretty good but must targets were shallow. The second hunt I did not do very well. There are some hunter that still use the explorer and do find some stuff. If your friend is thinking about borrowing a detector I would recomend a Infinium they are very easy to learn in a short time. HH Ron
