Digging in the snow

Hit a 1700's site in New Hampshire with a Whites IDX....I have never been able to metal detect in NH in Jan due to a couple feet of snow and artic chill in the past 10 years....well this year I can.....the fields and grassy areas are frozen solid. But you can dig in the woods for the most part with some effort.....Dug two nice older buttons and a bunch of busted Relics. And it was 40 degrees.....there is only 3 to 4 inches of snow so targets can still be heard. I pumped the sensitivity all the way and ran no disc. And dug everything above iron.

Nice!

I should try the woods up here. With all the warm temps we've been having lately I just might be able to break through the ground.

As you can see by my name, I LOVE the IDX,mine is a modified IDXPro. I recently have gotten into the Minelab Explorer,but....the IDX ain't no slouch and can find ALOT of things. It's quick, accurate ID,VERY well balanced and finding coins at 8-9" inches is child's play. I'm very lucky to have started on one and still have it,but not so lucky as to have any diggable productive sites right now that aren't frozen solid....:ranting:
