Digging History............. again

Larry (IL)

I was bored to death in history class in high school but 40 years later I have taken an interest in the Civil War, very interesting reading and every bullet I dig is a direct link back to that era. We had another beautiful day in the 40's here in Illinois so I took advantage of it and got a few hours to hunt. The usual bullets, a 47 wheat and the smashed top of a fountain pen. It was nice to be able to get out and hunt a week before Christmas.

I sometimes envy where your at. I was in Peoria a couple years ago when invited for a family reunion. I wanted to go out and detect, but we didn't have time. Best of luck to you and your wife.

Thanks Marvin, except for the colonial coins, we have a pretty good cross section of targets to find here and as long as we have some moisture, that black dirt is pretty easy digging.

Nice
