Digging hard ground

I purchased the XS 3 weeks ago and it has not rained in the Cleveland area for about 5 weeks. the ground is like concrete. I am finding silver that I could never find with my XLT, but the silver is usually buried next to junk that makes pinpointing impossible. I have to make a hole big enough to hide a basketball sometimes and my wrist and hand got tired from the strain. I found a really great stainless 24 inch digging tool that has a foot peddle that makes it a lot easier. You can cut a small 5 inch plug or a large one if you cannot pinpoint.Check it out at: http://www.treasurehunterssupply.com/
I have been reading all of your posts for several weeks and your suggestions were very helpful, especially the digital screen number 31 being a nail.

your pinpointing will get better in time.try to isolate the different targets by going over the target very slowly and from different directions. hopefully you will start saving now for your x-1.
isn't it nice find those targets the other machines let slip through the cracks in those garbage filled parks.

Buy an X-1 and you can throw the shovel away! Your holes can be finger size.
