If you want a chance to actually dig CW relics in Virginia and meet a whole bunch of nice folks like JigFlipper, Jeff Loftus, Craig (Bubba), me, and my friend Keith (Butch and Pam aren't signing up for this one) ..... plus a couple hundred other really nice CW relic diggers, then sign up for DIV XI to be held March 20-22 (Fri-Sun), 2009. It is an invitational paid hunt. One of the best organized hunts you'll ever have the chance to attend where you'll actually be on land, with permission of the land owner, where the land holds CW relics. Even with so many hunters, the land will be hundreds if not over a thousand acres, so you won't feel crowded.
The ground is HOT ... VERY HOT, hiding the goodies from those who go too fast or are reluctant to dig EVERYTHING regardless of how tired you get. I've found good stuff at these hunts and I've also had my butt kicked by that hot soil .... powdered iron!
Go to www.mytreasurespot.com and look for the Diggin in Virginia forum. Read the FAQ's / sign up on the forum, then scroll down to 9/7/08 at 5:20 PM to see Rose Kendricks announcements of sign ups. Read her directions carefully.
Just signing up does not guarantee you an invitation. There will be about 350 invited and an alternate list of about 100. The DIV hunts are the PRIMO hunts for outsiders like us who don't live in Virginia and have places we can hunt like Vernon and Mountain Man.
