Diggin in VA 10- Civil War relics....

Bill Ladd

New member
I had a great time once again as it's always a treat for a New Englander to get the chance to dig Civil War relics. I used a combo of the Infinium becuse of the nasty mineralized red clay & the 1270. The 1270 killed it on bullets, Infinium hot on buttons....
First here's a scene of the 2 big hill Yankee camps that produced so well for everyone...

Here's one of my favorites. I got a few NY buttons & this nice coat came out looking like it was on a pedestal of the red clay clod. Somehow I got it back in once piece & the clay has hardened. I think it looks cool in my display case this way. Like a conversation piece that shows the red clay. I'm going to pick off some of the dirt later....

Just before leaving, I felt like a change of scenery & diggin' a few bullets in the woods to see how the 1270 would do.....I dug 30 in an hour & had a ball. I just know the sound of a bullet with that machine....The bullet killer :) Most of these are fired & show impact....

Here's a display case I put together. I looked for the top round "pan" of the way cool shoulder scales for 2 days with no luck :) Even dug a nice quartz arrowhead above my name tag.....

Finally here's a shot of just one of the trailers at the BBQ showing everyones finds......Some impressive displays for sure.

Thanks for looking,
Bill

Love that button in the clay, will make a very interesting display piece!

Bill were any good coins found ? Looks like the clay isn't too hard on the finds.

Great hunting, thanks for sharing !
