i think the guys on the show are two clowns and the show is fake.............the holes are prepluged

I think it's hilarious....my buddy & I also act as goofy at times. We are a lot older then those two guys too. Metal detecting is already a great hobby..... even better yet if you add some humor too! Life is just too dang short. I see no reason why a couple of grown men using metal detectors should act serious, especialy when in reality, we dig so much junk and clad coins.

Bring on the humor I say!

i think its a great show and tim and george do a pretty darn good job! at least they try to make it entertaining.. I know some people want them to be all serious and this or that but if they did the show would have been canceled already....I dont understand why some people have such a problem with them. they arent malicious, dont break any laws and just try to make it entertaining.

I personally dont mind the show. I watched all their episodes on YouTube during the winter months. It helped me get thru cabin fever. I act goofy with my detecting buddy all the time. We dont use terms like juice, nectar or roundness.... but we do use terms like "clinker" which is a zinc lincoln memorial... or when we get a really banging deep coin signal and we unearth a crappy memorial we refer to our find as a stinkin' lincoln lol... its all in good fun, just like the show is all in good fun.

Just my 2 clinkers... :)

Last night the guy called Ringy climbed a tree he was so excited. I'd be up a tree if I did that and couldn't get back down without the fire department.
The stocks and rotting vegetables is not my thing, however. They're good sports anyway. They might act goofy, but they have passion for what they're doing.
John, that must be some high class metal detector's on the beach.

I follow the show too but at 30 minutes they waste an awful lot of time hooping, hollering and jumping around.
I'd be interested in a more serious where to look, how to / see what can be found format.

I have to agree and disagree with you guys.
On one hand anyone has the right to act how they want when they detect. Heck, I sometimes hum goofy songs to myself about Sasquatch. I would hate to think anyone not detecting heard me humming a Bigfoot medley.

On the other hand when you put it on film and then have no instructional tips on how to dig a plug properly, and when you give the impression that you just walk on to any place to detect, well that causes problems for me.
As a result every goofball at home watching this while stuffing their face will go out and get an Ace 250 and show up to a local park with a post hole digger.
So in saying that I do believe anyone can act how they want in any hobby or aspect of life. Just be prepared for the fallout if you act like ass clowns.
I personally find these guys annoying and could not tolerate someone doing somersaults cause they found an Indian Head.
Don't even get me started on that banana head former wrestling BAM! guy.

yeah personally anyone who lets this show anger them or upset them...my opinion is they have a million things in life they are angry about. let it go enjoy life.

Amen to that! I'm from Michigan and went out hunting with my At-pro friday and found a cool 10k gf and sterling ring, a 1944 war nickel and 57 wheat. My first silvers of the year. It was a good day!

I think the show is entertaining. Of course it is ramped up a bit for TV, have you ever watched some youtube videos about how to detect? Some dudes are so full of themsleves its much more painful to watch than some light hearted show about detecting.

Heck man this is the first show that takes our hobby and makes it interesting to the general public. I don't see how y'all can talk bad about it. I never thought they would havve s how about what we do and now they have one, we should support it and tell all out buddies, hey this is what we do and were proud of it. Kids are watching and they will want to try it. It is probably the best thing to happen to our hobby. I say support this show and be proud of what we do.

i will say this cuz I have enjoyed the show too....It does concern me just a little that every tom dick and harryy will go get a detector now....and it wouldnt surprise me at all if one day we will need a license to do this hobby......thats just a small concern I have so I do understand that point.....i watch every episode tho.....

The Swamp Hunters show makes these guys seem high-brow. I've caught parts of two episodes, and in both they used explosives to blow finds free of the earth.

Anything bigger than a firecracker is too dangerous for me. Short attention spans and dynamite don't mix.
