Either of these coils would be better in tot lots than the standard 8" or 8X9 coils Tesoro uses ... unless you're hunting the very open playground spaces. For workign in and around the play structures, both are good considerations. Definitely, not a waste of money.

Having used all Tesoro coils and virtually every Tesoro that they've made for land searches, I favor the 5
 
Nice post Monte, thanks. Alot of good info there for someone new to a Tesoro detector and a very good refresher for the rest of us, myself included. Steve.
