dig it all.

So I decided to park the E trac, and take the compadre for a little. dig it all action. I have used other machines at this place (always cherry picking though). The hunt took place at local (old) park, After reading Digger 27'S post's about basketball courts I decided to target this local court. After only two hour's I had dug 143 target's.
1 silver necklace
22 coins (all clad)
120 junk target's.
That was only along one side of the court (the long part) about eight feet out from the edge of the blacktop. I plan to dig it all the way around with the Compadre at below foil/above iron, then go back with the E trac for the old deep coin's, that should be there (under all the junk).
Wish me luck.

Very nice chain there I love my Compadre will never part with it and I agree I usually set at slightly above iron and dig it all. Great plan getting the little shallower items out of the way then E-trac'ing to victory :)

that is neet , you know if a gold ring was thear it would have been in your hands, I like to do the same thing

I see that you'll letting the Tesoro Compadre do all the heavy lifting for the etrac.:)

I've said it many times before, the Compadre outshines all my other detectors when it comes to finding necklaces.

Everyone should have a Compadre in their arsenal of detectors. If you don't, you're missing out on a lot of good finds.

Southwind I could have avoided the trash, I would have ended up about a dollar in rotten coins. I will take the jewelry anytime I bet there is more to come from this site. That will never be found cherry picking, like I said in my post I have allready cherry picked.

I am doing pretty much the same thing on a favorite ballfield. I have most of the trash cleaned out now and will go back after the summer and clean out the recent drops (trash and treasure) and then start working the deep stuff I hope is there.

I usually cherry pick. Some of the parks I go to don't have metal detector bans that I have seen and the city park employess usually wave and if possible I make sure they see me picking up trash. If you dig the area all up it could be the end of detecting there. I am very meticulous about my digging so that I don't ruin it for me or anyone else. I ALWAYS use a drop cloth and leave the plug so that you cannot tell I was there. I just feel that too much digging could attract attention that you don't want.

That little Compadre is the next best thing to sliced bread.
