From the land of the Bluenose...Saturday morning saw French Dave head back to the land of the Capers as the Bardman and I headed to a local school for a little "noodling" around as he call it. Kind of makes me think that we were going out for Italian food rather then hunting for coins. Digging on the field was easy and within an hour had 55 coins with 90% of those pennies with the Bardman having approximately as much in his "dewy" bag.
From there it was to my Mother's for my sister's 40th birthday and a great feed of macaroni and cheese which left me feeling like a beached whale. After the "gobble and go" (got out of the dishes) Marie and I headed back to our place for a quick change (must admit Marie looked stunning in her attire and me stunned as I'm not one for dressing up) and it was off to the formal dinner and dance for the yearly awards gala for work which proved to be as stuffy as ever with the air so thick of self important folks that a chain saw wouldn't have gotten through it. Jokes aside the Wesson put on a great meal (poached Atlantic salmon with a white cream sauce). The dance was straight out of the 40's with the music supplied by the "Crypt Kicker Five." Of course after the meal the place cleared out like a fire drill as most headed home for their viagara, blood pressure pills or to catch the liquor store before it closed. Marie and I had a few dances to work off some of the twin bill suppers we devoured.
Leaving this event we moved on to the Copper Penny and joined my sister Michelle and her friends for a few while listening to the Persauders (sister has a thing for the lead singer) who are the type of band one just can't sit and listen to but have to get up and dance to or as in my case look like an epileptic seizure in the making! Lord knows how many beer and seizures later and it was time to hit the road with Mario Marie Andretti behind the wheel. All a blear to me.
Alarm went of and here it was Sunday morning and another outing with the Bardman and newbie Willie Wonkit (named after the main character in the movie "Willie Wonkit's Chocolate Factory") in the Musquodobit area. Digging targets was easy and the weather perfect which was my kind of day especially since I was really dragging butt from lack of sleep and self induced illness. Willie Wonkit and the Bardman each recovered about 20 coins with this bouy suffering through 85 coins that consisted of mostly pennies. Good day with the newbie coming along great and getting to meet the infamous "Bardman of Lower Sackville."
