[attachment 10252 S3010005.JPG][attachment 10251 S3010002.JPG][attachment 10250 S3010001.JPG]Most of the gold nuggets I have found on my patch, I did notwant to solder anddamage the nuggets, I had this 4 gramer mounted for my wife, by wire wrapping in 14kt gold wire. I just wanted to get the forum back on the subject of gold. Heres the pix. Grubstake

The value of those little nuggets can go up significantly if you just add one to the top of a stick pin like this:

Here's a stickpin I made with a small diamond mounted in it:

Small nuggets make for great tie tacks:

Or carefully select a matched set of nuggets and turn them into a pair of earrings:

Or take that 4 dwt piece, frame it in 14k and add a small birth stone, in this case an emerald. I made this for my daughter from a nugget I unearthed down in Quartizite.

Or mount it with a small diamond, although I must admit I think colored stones are better next to gold, diamonds seem to get lost:

Or pound the nugget into a unique ring, JUST KIDDING !

Thats some nice stuff you have there DOC, the Lady that did mine, is the head of the Mariposa Gem and mineral club, she has done about 10 of these for me and only charges $25.00 a nugget+the cost of the 14kt gold wire she use's. Not bad on price. All of my Aunts have nuggets mounted this way. they make good birthday and Christmas presents. Anyway now the forum is back on the subject of GOLD! I wish more people would post pictures of the finds they have made old or new. Grubstake

Here's one for you Grubstake. I found it about 16 years ago. Sorry the picture isnt too good.
Not a jewellry piece but you can get a lot of wire and ring blanks out of a bit that size.
Anyone want to have a guess at the weight?

Thats a nice sized nugget, I will guess 11.4 oz. Nice going, yes that would be a bit much to mount on a chain, unless it was a logging chain. Grubstake
