I own 3 Detectors 2 Whites and 1 Garrett+ a Garrett pin pointer. I aways thought about getting a Garrett because some friends of mine own one.I first got a Pin pointer and Love it so I seen a Ace 350 on sale at a pawn shop and traded in some Gold I found with my Whites and bought it. Like any machine you have to learn it's language. But after a while you can pretty well tell what you are digging just from the sound. Anyway I belong to a Whites forum and this one. It tickles me on the Whites board you have to walk on egg shells and watch what you say and By all means don't mention another brand name or the adman will slap your hands and tell you you are not allowed to say that lol.What I like about Garrett is the simplicity of the machine and I have had good experience with the repair shop.. In the Whites forum I have given my opinion about Garrett and was Bombarded with messages on how great Whites are and how much Superior they where and how cheap Garrett was and all I can do is Laugh at them..I am not saying Whites makes a bad machine, they make an excellent machine, But you almost have to have a collage degree in electronics to operate there top of the line detectors. I plan on getting a ATPro and was told on Whites forum, It is junk and most people trade them in, and go with a M6 to MXT. Oh well To each his own I guess Happy hunting y'all
 
Trade them in ? ...Seen a few AT Pro's out there and all sell high. Garrett has a huge back order on the AT PRO..lol Seems they are doing well in the sell of the AT PRO. I'm like you I've had Whites, Fisher, Garrett and Bounty Hunter....They all do the same thing and not one seemed to do anything different in the depth department. It's all in what you want to drive..Chevy,Ford or Dodge....lol
 
The Garrett forums here are pretty laid back from my experience. Probably the most laid back forum on Findmall, but I do enjoy surfing through all of them on occasion.
 
I haven't found a brand I don't like. Man, we're so lucky to live in this day and age! I can so remember the days when I had to fiddle with the threshold or tap the retune button, or increase the motorboat beat just to get a 3" coin.
