Different Search Mode- whats the difference?

Was wondering what the difference is between each search Mode. For instance; what is the difference between High Trash and Coins? Is the difference just the difference between the default editable settings? Of are there other under the cover parameters that are different between these search modes? For instance; is the combination of scanning frequencies different between search mode and/or the is the interpretation of the information reflected back to the 3030 from the target treated differently between each of search modes?

The differences are: a) pattern for mode 1 and mode 2
b) target separation
c) which options are checked (recovery deep, recovery fast, seawater, tone profile, etc)

From my understanding, the TARGET SEPARATION is the one on how the signal/frequencies are treated differently especially in mineralized ground or multiple targets under the coil.

Yes it can be a little complicated but basically a different algorithm that controls the ctx separation circuit was incorporated. And that made all the difference for they found it enhanced it's ability to see and identify. Minelab ingeniously combined trash density and ground condition into the target separation circuit which led to the modes which address specific challenges or specific techniques. It's pretty amazing in the fact that you can mix several different ways but generally specific modes enhance what you need at the site. No matter the outside noise or the ground condition the ctx ignores it and only passes the cleaned up signal. So unless you have incredible iron or trash all the modes should work okay but everyone has their favorite, i'm crazy so i would do something like high trash, deep on with almost all disc. except the cherry spots, and then if i find something old i will go back and be more careful, with ferrous-coin, deep on. and so forth.

Searching this forum for posts by Digger(aka Randy Horton) will tell you what the separation choices do. He explains it well. I'll try to find it and link it...don't hold your breath on that though, computers are my enemy.

Here you go,it's on Minelabs site...this is for TARGET SEPARATION,not the main modes such as Beach,Relic,Silver, etc. The differences in the main modes are just the way you have discrimination set up,what boxes you have checked for Fast/Deep/Seawater/Tone setup etc.etc.
