Has anyone tried any of the different responses other than normal? Was wondering how Long, smooth, or pitch hold
can help or has helped you.

Pitch hold is quite nice once you get used to it.

What's so nice about it, and how does it help you?

I use the pitch hold also so I can hear when I go over a deeper target. I am hard of hearing and some of the small target signals that are so weak it is just a quick beep and back to normal threshold in normal response. With pitch hold when the detector sees a target you get the normal response, but the threshold now will change of the last target it sees to let me know it seen something I may not normally have heard. I feel because of this on the Sovereign I have used since 1996 that I have done so well with it and not as well with the Explorer and was doing much better with the E-Trac which had the pitch hold.
