different frequency coils

Maybe i am just getting old and need a brain recharge, but how can all of the whites detectors that use a 14 KHZ coil, interchange coils with the V detectors that use 2.5, 7.5, and 22.5 KHZ coil, and be "good to go", doesn't make since to me.:shrug:
 
2,5, 7.5, 22.5khz are all harmonics of each other and these are directly related to 14khz (Sort of)Don't ask me to explain coz I can't and will get a headache.
