Differences between older and newer models Surfmaster pro PI

I posted a similar question in the Whites detector but this forum may be more appropriate. Beside age, what is the difference between the purple labeled and yellow labeled surfmaster pro PI's. Thanks for any input.

Hi mynahman one thing i did notice was a guy i met had the same pi as myself {whites] and he was telling me that they dont detect fine chains so i went home and got my wifes fine gold chain and we both had a go at it his did NOT make a sound and mine did????? terry in oz:coiltec::ausflag:
 
I made a mistake, I meant to ask the difference between the surfmaster pro PI (purple label) and the pulse diver 950 (yellow label).
