Difference

Super tuning is turning up the gain to make the the smallest and deepest targets sound louder, or hear them at all which on the very deepest ones might be faint otherwise.
Doing this will make most targets loud and will prevent the pinpoint feature from working.

Ground balance is adjusting the machine to recognize and tune out ground minerals in an effort to see past them and deeper into soil where these minerals exist.
Power balancing is taking this a step further and adjusting the setting little more positive than from neutrality Monte's balancing suggestions.
 
Sorry...you turn up the threshold to supertune, not the gain.
