Difference the Remote makes in the Deus

I was looking at buying a Deus and found a new one open box. Evidently someone changed their mind. Anyway it has 11” x35 and ws-4 headphones but no remote for $499. I know remotes are around $550 new. How much does the remote enhance the detectors features. And how hard is it to find a used remote. Thanks for any advice.

You are looking at what is called the "Deus Light ".
The remote is what is used to up-date and program the WS-4s and it also dose most of the special features of the Deus 1.
Right now, you should be able to find a complete used set-up with remote and extra coils for not a lot more.

Thanks. I appreciate the input. I’ve been searching high and low but most I’ve seen are $650-700 and up with little or no warranty. If you know of any let me know. Or if you know anyone interested in a Garrett Ace 350 or Nokta Fors Relic. Willing to sell or trade. Thanks again

You just missed a remote on ebay sold for like $300,
If they ever come out with another update you wont be able to update them unless you have the remote or if a friend has one you can use his to update them.
The Xp Deus Lite is a pretty decent setup. But you will eventually want the remote.
