Did a quick search on this topic, came up with only two posts 4 years ago. Does anyone know if there is a difference between the early explorer 1000 coil and the newer 1050 coil? I have both, and the physical dimensions of the coils are the same. About 10.5 inches across. The coil covers are identical and fit the same on both coils. The lower rod attachment point is the same, in reference to where on the coil it attaches. The only difference i can find is the sticker on the older coil says minelab explorer 1000, and on the newer it reads minelab FBS 1050. Other than that and the serial numbers which indicate which is newer than the other, I can't see a physical difference. Any light shed upon this topic would be much appreciated!
