Difference between Golden and Silver Umax?

Newbie here...I have been told that both are great clad finders and probably a good beginner machine. Can someone who has owned both or knows detectors tell me the difference between the 2? Would one be better for clad hunting over the other?

Thanks!

The Golden has tone ID and notch to eliminate most pulltabs. I think the Golden would have been my choice had I thought it out before I got my Silver umax. Not that I made a bad choice, but rather that I would have had 3 detectors in one-a tone detector, a notch detector and a beep-dig detector should I ignore the tone ID. Not only that, but the discriminate level can be lowered to almost a/m mode, whereas the Silver's either minimum discriminate(iron discriminate) or a/m. I still wish I had one.

Slingshot pretty well nailed it.

The Golden is a more versatile machine.

The notching feature allows you to cherry pick better than the silver will, but you will likely lose some depth in the process.

I tend to run without notching unless there are a lot of screw caps.

The tone feature is my favorite.
