This weekend,, had to do some mechanical work on my Jeep,, only to find out it was a blown fuse,, ya,, first thing I should have checked but NOOOOO,, I had to be a electrician and think the worst,, anyway cost me about 200 to find out I had a blown fuse,, but thought I;ll go metal detect and get back my two hundred,, I got a good start,, worked over a gravel parking lot,, found about a buck 50,, anything deeper then 1 inch stayed in the ground,, I needed a pick to get at those kind of hits,,
 
I hear ya on that! Old parking lots - especially the turn-of-the-century kind you find under a few inches of soil - are TOUGH! I always wonder if it's even worth digging what may be an old coin, since chances are it's going to get chewed up in the excavation process anyway.
