Took the ATP out for a stroll yesterday. I dug 84 quarters,17 dimes 14 nickels,19 pennies. I got so tired of digging quarters I passed up about 20 more quarter signals and started cherry picking for any numbers other than known VIDs and tones. Found some lead and other junk but didn't dig anymore coins.

Great hunt! Quarters! especially in that amount! thats a $23.59 hunt there...put it in monetary perspective...you would have had to find over 20 silver rosies to equal the same pay in todays value..So you did great!

In fact, you can run that mess through a Coinstar, even after they take their 10% cut, you then take the remaining @$20 loot to the local coin shop and buy yourself some silver! You can get 2 silver halfs that are selling about 8 bucks each, and a few dimes for about a buck 50 each!

Fellas I appreciate the comments. I also found a billfold with 7 dollars in folding money but the money was so worn out I doubt that it could be exchanged. I'm planning on trying to return the wallet. I will be going back and wearing my self out to retrieve the rest of the moola there. I've not cleaned the coins yet but judgeing from the age of the area there maybe some silver hiding in the bunch.

I dont mind digging quarters like that , they add up real quick. If every target was a quarter I dont even mind not finding any silver or gold.

Gunter, do you usually hunt relics? Yep, there's a difference in squats between relic and clad hunting. But give me a field of quarter's.

You beat my record of 67 quartets at a school yard in a 3 hour hunt, all were 6-8 inches in red clay

And just think my buddy got 76,I got 87 and we passed on a bunch but are going back one more time.
