.... a rented lake house on Lake Lainier near Atlanta. All the kids, grand kids, son-in-laws, Nancy's parents and sister and my brother-in-law were there. Photos to follow in a few days.
We surprised Nancy on our 40th anniversary by having middle daughter Ginger's husband Todd remarry us. Todd is in fact a minister although not practicing. He has a masters in Theology.
Nancy thought the evenings theme was prom night so everyone got dressed up and waited upstairs to be called to the stairs leading down to the rec room for "couples photos" at the foot of the stairs. Nancy and I were last.
Her 89 year old dad met her at the bottom of the stairs to walk her down the aisle. He didn't get to do that 40 years ago since we had eloped. The granddaughters threw rose peddles as Nancy walked down the aisle.
Nancy looked beautiful and I was as handsome as I could be in my Tux shirt, Tux tie and tan cargo shorts / no shoes. The Tux shirt was XL should have been XXL. After the ceremony we cut the wedding cake and I told the story of how I met Nancy in college, the most beautiful girl on campus. Then a champagne toast to the bride.
We then viewed a DVD of old photos of Nancy and I and music from the past 40 years together my brother-in-law and me worked together to produce. I'll try to upload it to photobucket for those of you who'd like to see what I looked like 40 or so years ago.
We had a great time.
